It was before my wedding, and after I had quit a job that entailed traveling around and eating in restaurants 3 meals a day 4 days a week. Also, copious amounts of alcohol. Ahh, consulting.


I found, remarkably, that without a trainer in sight I was able to lose 20 lbs and go from a stretched 10 to a comfy 6. I did this by doing cardio, lifting some weights, and eating roughly the right amount of calories to lose about 1 lb per week.

After the wedding, I started trying to get pregnant. This meant optimistically eating for two before it was confirmed I wasn't pregnant, and also not doing anything that might jostle a baby loose. (It's impossible not to think this way. Even when you know it's not true.) I gained 10 lbs back and then got pregnant.

After I'm done being pregnant, I know what I have to do if I want to get back down to my "awesome" body, which is disturbingly similar in measurements to your "old" and "tubular" body but was good enough for me.
