Our entire infrastructure is based on oil thus any realistic plan involves drilling and any and all other petroleum related sourcing until such time as we can shift the infrastructure to an alternate one.

The problems come when you ONLY offer drilling as a solution and dont take the alternative fuel and infrastructure work seriously. This is why McCain's so called plan is a miserable one-it makes no objectives for replacing the oil industry, just plans to keep it going ad infintum.
