So the author's premise is that abortion is not an unpleasant last resort but rather the innate right of every woman? The child's father (even if legally married to the woman) should have no say as to the survival of his offspring? I am pro-choice, but I also know the horror a woman with a conscience, who has had an abortion must go through for the rest of her life. This is not a simple decision. It isn't the same thing as a tattoo or a tummy tuck. The author doesn't sound like a reasonable person but rather one of Rush Limbaugh's "feminazis". Even if you support legal abortion, Roe v. Wade is a weak ruling built on unsolid ground. To consider abortion as being as important as freedom of speech seems a bit disturbing. I still like the idea of "safe, legal" and rare".
