What really frustrates me is that for every foreign policy disaster/crises the Bushies always act surprised and claim it is merely a consequence of circumstances beyond the administrations control and/or that nothing the U.S. could have done would have changed the result. It never ocurs to them that things might have been handled differently, and that the results might have been different. Iraq is a classic case; in their minds the only alternative to invading Iraq was a mushroom cloud over an American city.
