this occurred to me last night: that mccain was being so craven and non-'mavericky' only in order to get elected. then if he were to be elected, he'd go back to being his old, 'mavericky'/'straight-talkin' self and we could all be happy and go back to liking him again...

but of course he could never campaign with that message; that he's being such a craven dubya sock monkey only in order to placate the religious right and oil cos and neo-cons and supply-siders and torture advocates, etc... but at least he could let us in on the joke with a wink or something - then we could vote for him if we truly so worried about obama and his 'experience gap'...

of course mccain hasn't been winking. and he never will...
