USA and Georgia, another neo-con gem?
by ayalonValley

Until this crisis boiled over I never really looked what the US was doing in Georgia. Having done so now, I am horrified to see the neo-con stamp all over these clumsy, stupid moves.

So you geniuses thought you could just arm a tiny, bitter Russia enemy right at its border, and not make 110% sure (not a typo) these arms would NEVER be used in a military operation likely to provoke Russia? What does any other nation in the world think now about having America’s back?

To be clear, I am not endorsing in way the bastards at the Kremlin. IMHO Putin is the most dangerous leader in the world, but this means the US should have much more careful in handling Georgia. Hint: butting in, lavishing them with the latest arms and military aid, and talking tough about NATO and unconditional support was NOT the right move, unless the US was ready to back it up.

So once again we look like big, clumsy amateurs trying to match our dimmed wits with the Russian bear. Not good!

BTW, where was Congress all this time? oversight, anyone?
