The War on Terror, fought by the United States and her allies are various forms of engagements and campaign to counter terrorist threats, prevent terrorist acts, and curb the influence of terrorist organizations.

That's all well and good in some make believe fantasy world where the US and co are pure as the driven snow, but we've dwelled and delved too long on the daark say to be this black and white about what terrorism is and the virtue of terrorist organisations.o

Going back to the mujahadeen in Afghanistan who were combatting the Soviets. Ronald Reagan himself stated these "freedom fighters" represented the same values as those upheld by our founding fathers.

The other mujahadeen in Iraq/Iran, are listed as a terrorist organisation by the State Department, and yet we are harboring and funding them as they set off bombs in Tehran.

So while we may counter terrorist threats, prevent terrorist acts, and curb the influence of terrorist organizations some of the time, there have been occasions when we have also enabled terrorist threats, performed terrorist acts, and increased the influence of terrorist organizations.
