Every television and press conference from Saddam includes vows of
vengeance and murder. Quotes from Saddam, found in approx. 10 seconds:
You are seriously grasping at straws? I supose you also thought that Badghdad Bob was a great general and a threat to our invading army?
Anyone with a brain knows that these statements were made for domestic consumption. If they had any bssis in reality, the US government would have attacked Iraq in 1994, not 9 years later.
"[I]t is possible to turn to biological attack, where a small can,
not bigger than the size of a hand, can be used to release viruses that
affect everything..."
Babil, September 20, 2001
Another pathetic argument. So according to you, one small can could annihilate the entire US? BTW. He didn't even have a small can of whevetever it was.
Ummm, so the fact that
you aknowledge Saddam used WMD on other countries, his own people, and
US forces is an argument against the United States and her allies
leaving the state of Iraq to its own devices when it comes to minding
thier own international business?
We didn't seem to mind that he was using WMD on Iran, or anyone else at the time. In fact, after using them on his own people, we contgnued to support him.
There is absolutely nothing to indicate the United
States supported or condoned the bombing of the Kurds, and you will not
spin it to mean so here.
So sending a US envoy to shake hands with Saddam in Baghdad is our idea of condemnation? Give me a break.
The United States turned over Saddam to a war
crimes tribunal which it supported, and one of hundreds of counts of
murder facing Saddam was that of his acts against the Kurds shortly
after the first Iraq War.
Firstly, the war
crimes tribunal in Iraq has no interntaional recognition or legitimacy. We purposely kept him out of the Hague to ensure embarrasing details didn't get reported. Secondly, of all the acts of murder he commited, we charged him on the least of these becasue they took place BEFORE we started supporting him.
It's not like a Taliban leader was captured, or over 100
insurgents killed yesterday. Wait, yes they were.
Oh you mean like these insurgents? It always amazes me how we can be so sure that those we kill are insurgents until we get caught out.
