He's never claimed that the Iraq war has been flawlessly executed, because he'd have to be certifiably insane to do so. Still, he cherry-picks and showcases the very few success stories the Iraq situation provides.
He HAS consistently bifurcated and claimed that the only options were this war or an evil Hussein dictatorship forever in power(no one is claiming that Saddam was nice, regardless of what Hitch implies). Not the case. He has justified unspeakable atrocities for weak reasons, and his interventionist philosophy is incredibly inconsistent. If Saddam being a horrible dictator justifies a war, why isn't he advocating a unilateral invasion of the entire eastern world?
He can't claim rising oil prices and subsequent Iraq budget surplus as evidence of any kind of victory when the streets of Baghdad are running red with blood(and if he cares that much about financial figures, he should pay more attention to the US spending).
