Non-linear mathmatical models generally lead to 3 states: chaos, flat, or florid trajectories with no limit cycles; sometimes called deterministic chaos, sometimes complexity. When trying to predict one of those outcomes in a system as complex as the atmosphere, wouldn't it be intelligent to avoid that chaotic state?
