A few years ago DH and I were living apart (work related). We saw each other every weekend and my job was 50% travel. Needless to say I got a bit behind on the housework. Wasn’t a health risk by a long shot but the dust bunnies were multiplying like, well, rabbits and getting aggressive… I hired someone to come in every other week to clean and I cannot begin to say how wonderful this was. Although DH and I are now under the same roof (thankfully), we still have someone come in every other week. She has been with us for about 4 yrs and is a terrific lady. I would say a bad house cleaner would be worse than none at all.

About Mom’s reaction… I didn’t tell my Mom for years bcs I thought she would think less of me (not great phrasing but I think you know what I mean). When I did tell her she said if she could have afforded it she would have had someone do the cleaning in a heart beat. Go figure…
