I've heard enough from the snobbish critics

Who asked Polly Shulman, Dan Kois and Will Leitch to be the ones to discuss the book? What a bunch of whining, carping crabapples! Do they think they have to pick at nits to be considered valid?

I found the book to be entertaining, fun, and was quite satisfied with the conclusion. Yes, I have questions I wish had been answered, but every good book leaves you thinking. J. K. Rowling has put together a wonderful story in her seven book series. I'm glad it has rewarded her financially and she has the right to feel rewarded by the joy and admiration of her readers.

I would direct the three who are shredding her effort to a statement made by Theodore Roosevelt:

"It is not the critic that counts; not the one who points out how the strong man stumbles or how the doer of deeds might have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred with sweat and dust and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotions; and spends himself in a worthy cause; who, if he wins, knows the triumph of high achievement, and who, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat."

Begone, you cold and timid souls!
