Right. Ahmadinejad never said that Israel must be wiped off the map. That is correct. Not only have his words been literally mistranslated, but deliberately so. More importantly, as I stated in the post you replied to, Ahmadinejad does not have the authority to attack Israel.

But world conflagration will not be due to this since Ahmad's speech is not the reason why Israel and the US want to bomb Iran. Armageddon and the second coming of Christ will be as a result of some larger set of lies.

But notifying the UN will not make a difference. As we saw with Iraq, when the US wants to attack another country, the will of the UN is disregarded.

Luckily Iran had been arming Hezbollah or Israel might have destroyed Lebanon in 2006. How many civilians died in Lebanon at the hands of the Israel military?

Actually, Iran is being held to a higher standard when it comes to the rights of countries who have signed the nuclear non proliferation treaty to develop a nuclear energy program.

It is unfortunate that the US arms Israel though. This enables Israel to invade countries and kill civilians, and to continue occupying Palestinian lands. This may or may not be part of the reason Iran is hostile to Israel. Prior to the Islamic revolution, this hostility did not exist.

In any event, Iran is not enough of a threat to Israel to justify bombing it. And it is Israel that has made repeated threats against Iran, including the use of nuclear weapons.

It would be a loss to have Israel destroyed through war. I do not expect it to occur. Certainly not by Iran, Lebanon, or the Palestinians. Probably it would be some sort of Saudi Afghanistan Pakistan sick form of Islamic militancy that would use wmd against Israel and be pleased at the loss of life and destruction of society.

However, the destruction of Israel as a zionist state for Jews by way of an embrace of democracy where all citizens get an equal vote would not be such a loss for the world, only for Jews. This can only happen if and when the two state fantasy is abandonned, but I do not expect that to happen either. What is more likely is an imposed fake two state solution.
