For the most part, it is way overused. It isn't realistic; when I'm watching something, my head isn't jerking back and forth like the camera is. The human eye communicates with the brain and focuses on what it wants to focus on, eliminating the shakiness. Conversely, the camera takes your eye wherever it goes, and if it is going all over the freaking place, you are going to Puke City. The last Bourne movie was such a waste of potential.
