true about the whole foods/co-op but healthy food doesn't really have to cost much more if you just put some effort into it. Canned and frozen veggies are cheap, as are a few of the less popular veggies (greens, cabbage). These can be delicious when well prepared. Pasta and rice can be very healthy (as long as they are eaten in moderation), as are beans and tuna fish. Add a few inexpensive cuts of meat, and you can easily feed your family healthy on a fraction of what you would spend at McDonalds even if you order off the 99 cents menu.
