Re: Stop the Smoke Blow
by DamienD

I just disagree with your premises.

This really isn't a fluff piece because it's just explaining these issues. I don't feel like it comes down heavily in favor or disfavor with Obama's judicial stances. So I wouldn't characterize it as blowing smoke. It's just trying to look into his comments at the time.

I also think that your statement, "Americans do not vote for smart and nuanced. They vote their guts." Is a bit simplistic. I think there are many people out there who want to know more about the candidates rather than going with their gut or sites like Slate wouldn't exist.

And why are you so offended that some people may be interested in this? I personally would like to know more about Obama's past experience and how he would shape the Supreme Court. Just as I have looked into McCain's comments on who he would appoint.

I mean, just because you don't care about this, doesn't mean other people don't either or that it's not important. And I'm not trying to give you rules like Malosi (I don't want to be cussed at) but if you're not interested in the topic of an article...skip it. It's what I do.
