"The great economy of the Clinton years was a result of the 12 years of
Republican reform which saw drastic reduction in taxes by reduction of
government waste, and significantly lowered interest rates for loans."...
The country was IN A RECESSION when Clinton took office. Beyond that, I'm seeing a common conservative meme here, "every negative under a Republican administration is a result of the Democrat that preceded him; everything positive under a Democratic administration comes from the Republican before him". It's so bloody simple-minded, and I know that political debates on the internet just foster this hyper-partisan one-note brain-dead view of things, but it's starting to bleed over into conservative talking points everywhere else.
W. turned a SURPLUS into a DEFICIT. That's not what conservativism is supposed to be about, that's just called having -no fucking spine-. Federal spending under this administration is HIGHER than it has been at any point in history. Clinton increased spending 8% under his watch, and in his first completed term W. let federal spending ballon by -18.9%-. (my source is a whitehouse.gov report here)
That so many so-called conservatives still claim this village idiot as one of their own shows their own core principles mean nothing to them. It's all a sham, a sideshow. As the country has become weaker and more divided than it has been in decades.
And I know you won't hear any of this.
