...here's a concept: who gives a !@#$%^&* ?
I am so incredibly tired of the Fourth Estate (MSM and Tabloids alike) obsessing over sex scandals. Because I think America has figured out at this point that the more sanctimonious the public official, the more likely it is s/he's completely unsanctimonious in their private hours. It's almost axiomatic.
So Edwards is having an affair. I'm shocked, I tell you. Utterly shocked. Completely shocked. Totally and unutterably shocked. (Is the sarcasm coming through?)
Personally, I am enjoying the fact that the MSM is not wasting their time by covering a meaningless sex scandal like white on rice. I'm tired of seeing journalists - who haven't bothered to police the current administration's blatant law breaking and recklessness - deciding that we must have 24 hour coverage of the Elliot Spitzer / Larry Craig / Mark Foley / Insert Name Here Sex Scandal.
I care what my public servants do in their official capacity. If they are doing things that don't actually impede or impact how their job decisions (i.e. - not grossly allowing their vote/ influence to be bought outright), I don't care. It's a matter between that politician and their loved ones.
Sex happens, folks. Get over it. Violence and corruption are far worse things to happen and we seem to accept those more gracefully.
