Yeah, I hear you. I've tried telling some of my Christian acquaintances: "Listen, I have nothing against you and I think you're a really nice guy and am happy to be your friend and wish you well. It's just your ignorant backwards anti-intellectual soul-killing socially destructive religious beliefs that I think ought to be outlawed or at least marginalized and quarantined so they can't cause harm to the rest of us." But do they accept this outstretched hand in the spirit of love in which it's offered? No way. Instead, they go and get all twisted about it, like they think I'm against them or something. Talk about touchy!
