Its not so much the amount of hourly wage, it is the percenatge of content in the product or ~10-12%. Not much diference there. Look to Overhead which Insurance falls into as the culprit, that and it doesn't exist in Asia. Overhead is ~30%. I will agree that throughput is highly effective in Honda and Toyota (Toyoda Production System) and it minimizes material cost.
