Re: Why should America want 4 more years of Bush?
by tsedek

"But why in the hell would someone want the same shit..."

You see the posts here, there are still folks who would vote Bush over Gore or Kerry, even knowing what they know now.

Americans in the flyover states have a naturally conservative streak and they tend to be a little gullible if the right words are used. St. Bill knew the language, the rituals, and could connect with the people because he was one of them. Barry doesn't have the accent, he doesn't have three terms as successful Arkansas governor, and he always pitched his policies toward a moderate center. Obama just comes across as too big city, too radically left, and, with Sharpton talking and reparations on the table, too black.

Barry could make a dent if he wasn't so limp. He's against the Blunder, but won't end it. He wants to help little people, but little people are seeing that his "help" has made inflation worse. Obama thinks he can win by whipping the rich, most people I know respect rich, educated people and don't really hate them and want to punish them.

Obama just sends out a lot of negative vibes for the heartland types, including me. Hopeheads can write it off as racist, but he just doesn't connect with me. He's not a Boomer, he's not a veteran, he's not a working man, and he's not St. Bill. I'm still open to conversion, but I don't see him offering either a fast enough end to the Blunder or a sensible economic plan, so I'll probably stick with an old, white veteran and hope I live til '12 so I can vote for Gore again.
