OTOH if you seek to advocate for abortion rights you must either confront the idea that abortion might be murder or else argue strongly for the non-personhood of the fetus.

Neither is the case. I argue for abortion rights on the basis that it is a bad idea to cede to The Government

  • powers not ceded to it in the Constitution
  • the right to demand control of a person's body and organs in the name of "preserving life".

My claim is simply that The Government has no authority to regulate here. That Am 4, Am 9, Am10 and Am 13 preclude The Government from acting, just as it is precluded from breaking down all the doors of the people in the block a suspected kidnapper is holding a hostage.

So the status of the fetus as a person is completely irrelevant
