Re: Victoria's Secret Article
by bandthropologist

The 'lifestyle' of the PINK line is... buying more Victoria's Secret clothes when you have more disposable income. Just as Baby Gap and Gap Kids provide trans-generational Gap clothes for 80s hipsters who grew up and now have kids. The idea of a branded 'lifestyle' is both hilarious and profitable.

Oh, and if I want a real fitting? I measure myself, or advise people to go to a high-end store. Victoria's Secret will hard-sell you an ill-fitting bra, or you'll be seduced by a 'bargain' (only $20 for something I'll need to wear all day that sort of fits!). The idea that Heidi Klum's model-sized cups (plumped with Photoshop in print ads) bear any relation to the fleshy funbags on my chest, and that her modelling is an endorsement is, again, laughable.
