The so-called surge has lasted over one-and-a-half years, about a third of the time spent in Iraq. This is stretching the definition of ‘surge’ a bit, don’t you think?

Stretching it a lot but Bush has always made up new names for old things...escalations and time horizens and gated communities and mutual aspirations.

It bought us nothing it was supposed to - the oil or the bases.

It bought Iraq and Maliki a chance tho...they took it and ran with it. Now, they wait to negotiate their future with many many nations and many many trading partners.

I suspect they'll define that as a victory...and call it a day.

All purged and ethnically cleansed and walled off and sitting on alot oil. Iran loves them and China, Russia, Turkey, India and the US want to buy them. It's good to be popular...
