I do not have a low opinion of women’s awareness of their own bodies. I do, however, question the ability of a scared teenager to make an informed, adult decision. As I said, I’m not sure that this announcement does any good anyway. The people who would be giving the announcement would be the same people performing the abortion, so they would very likely undermine the intention of the announcement anyway.

As for the straw man argument that the SD legislature might be complicit in any deaths that might result from pregnancy, that rests on the premise that dispensing information makes you morally complicit, which is simply false. By that same logic, the cabdriver to the hospital “participated” in the child’s birth, and if the child gets sick, reductio ad absurdum, the cabdriver is partly to blame.
