Neato: Judging by your post above, it appears to me that your criteria for racism is very vast. I have specific criteria, and it is far more acute.
If a person is living in a neighborhood, large quantities of black people move in that very neighborhood, and the neighborhood's crime rate goes up because these particular black people are criminals, a person can easily say, "Blacks have ruined our neighborhood" and have it be a factual argument! It doesn't even refer to the entire black race; just those people.
Unfortunately, when members of a certain race do something bad, it is convenient to identify them by their race. That's really the point of it; it's convenience. That's one of the undesirable traits of living in a culturally pluralistic society, but it does happen! And when it happens, you can't assume the worst in these situations unless the person really does say, "I hate black people" or "I hate Jews."
Isonomist did exactly that just earlier. (S)he just assumed that I was saying anti-Semitism is rational when I was saying the exact opposite. To Isonomist's credit, Isonomist did ask to clarify, but the tone was still condescending nevertheless. If you go around resorting to this sort of cultural Marxist thinking, where everyone is a huge bigot or racist because they're not being 100% politically correct at all times, then you're really just stifling what could be a decent discussion and robbing yourself of the ability to hear a person's argument, as rational or irrational as it might be.
I would suggest this Jewish woman who started the topic to A) identify herself as a Jew, and B) try to ask what the hell the people are talking about. Because it appears as though she has no idea.
