Sure, why not have both?

From a utilitarian perspective it doesn't matter. Either humans were created by a diestic "clockwork god" and then left alone, in which case the source of morality and truth springs from humankind. Or humans are the products of random chance and god doesn't exist, in which case the source of morality and truth springs from humankind.

A lot of self-professed athiests are avenging the persecution and/or brainwashing and/or guilt-trips they were subjected to by the christians. So they're going to gang up on someone like the above poster.

But really, Deism was good enough for a lot of the founders. It should be for you too.
