Intelligent, moderate people can debate whether or not we should have invaded Iraq, and many center-left did. Fareed Zakariah, Tom Friedman, Joe Klein, the editors of the New Republic and most congressional Dems initially supported intervention in Iraq. Saddam had flaunted the UN peace resolutions for a decade, and this couldn't be ignored anymore. Many have changed their positions, not without merit.
