The 3 responses a creationist has to this type of evidence
by williameis

Christopher - I recall you saying in a debate that when you are against a creationist, you find it best to "highlight and underline" this point rather then argue it. I have occasionally accepted the putrid distinction of arguing (not 'debating') the evolution case in front of creationist audiences (at the grandiloquent Liberty University) and I thank you for bringing this example to light. Vestigial body parts are toothpicks to chip at the hardened sludge around a creationist skull (sledgehammer evidence, such as the identical mistakes in human and ape chromosome 2, only hardens the sludge).

Getting the creationist to classify themselves in one of the categories can help soften the sludge:

1. Over 100,000 scientists worldwide are conspiring with each other on a day to day basis to feed the myth of evolution. They are publishing and confirming each others false findings in biology, astronomy, paleontology, physics, and chemistry.

2. An equal number of scientists have simply been mistaken about the evidence. The cross-study scientific agreement confirming Darwin’s theory of evolution has all been a sickening series of coincidences (and independent fields of research putting the universe at 13.7 billion years).

3. God (or the devil) has planted many complex lines of independent evidence as a test of our faith (to trick us).

Looking forward to using the Planet Earth salamander footage in an argument.
