VS is most definitely sending a message calling a line "Pink". I remember thinking years back when the line first came out, wow, that is either really bold or really stupid marketing, we'll see in a few years...and the line seems to be doing well. The scary thing is that even I could tell that they were aiming at the tweens, the 'still jailbait' set. People seem to enjoy sexing up their 13 yo daughters these days, judging by fray comments here.
I worked in a warehouse with all men, the job was very physical, I was the only female. We lifted bulk paper for much of the day, and the running joke was that I had to let the guys lift the pink paper. It would come down the belt and the guys would all yell "Here comes the pink!" and "I love the pink...just lifting it makes me happy" If a bunch of warehouse workers understand the phrase enough to make a joke about it, it's connotations are well-known and not just to the symbol-loving artsy fartsy set. Most ppl that know any slang have heard it used interchangeably with the word pu**y.
