The old saw "there's no accounting for taste" comes to mind here. To say Maggie Gylenhall is not a "beauty" is certainly an opinion you have the right to hold, I have to hold your eye in contempt at this point. Is Kidman gorgeous? Sure. But to say that Maggie's looks are something that she has to "make up for"? Wow, that's absurd. Perhaps her appeal is more fitting to the "alt" set who to fit their own cliche picked on her character in the Ferrell vehicle Stranger than Fiction as not being realistically punk while at the same time developing a huge fantasy crush on her.

Maggie's a gorgeous woman in her own right. Saying she's not is just perpetuating the unrealistic standard facing women these days.
