Hello?? IMAX?!?
by Trainspotter type

Dana, Dana, Dana..... I enjoy your reviews but how on earth can you write a review about the "biggest" superhero movie of the season and not ONCE mention its Imax presentation?

And if you didn't see Dark Knight at an Imax press screening, then I have to ask why not? WHY didn't you see this magnificent movie in its optimal presentation? I know for a fact the studio was screening it for critics at The Bridge (LA).

If people elect to see Dark Knight projected in Imax format - and I urge anyone to do so if they can - you will see that the opening six mins, and certain various sequences within the movie, particularly the panoramic sequences, were shot on Imax cameras.

So Dark Knight is huge in both scope and in its booming, rumbling sound. The score sounds especially rich and thrilling during the Imax cinema experience.

BTW - the switch between formats during its projection is seamless.

Truly impressive filmmaking.
