You know as well as I do that fundie support for Israel is based on the Biblical claim that there must be a Jewish state in existence in order for the Rapture to occur.

So it follows** that the fundies must be anti FundIslam because FundIslam threatens the continued existence of the Jewish state, and therefore the possible occurrence of the Rapture.

So what's not parallel?

And BTW, we know that Rapturism in the SBC is to be taken very seriously because it is at the root of the Baptist/neocon alliance.

I speak here of the conservative hard-core SBC, not the moderate baptists like Carter and those at Baylor and Belmont who are trying to migrate their flocks to the 20th century in the hopes that they'll eventually reach the 21st.
