"Terrorism" destroys the idea of "pure good" vs. "pure evil"? Wow! Welcome to anything past the 16th century!
If you're a complete nutjob, you may believe in "pure good" vs. "pure evil." And I'm not talking just in religious terms -- there may be a handful of people out there, religious and/or secular, who think people are either "with us or against us," and/or like to imagine that everything is drawn in shades of black and white ... but frankly it's silly that anybody still thinks theres any greatly inherent philosophical depth for understanding that systems are complex and there are often complex answers to complex questions.
Critics of the current Bush administration often make one, huge, fatal mistake: The imagine that "Bush" is a singularly stupid monopoly, a leader with no good qualities at all, he's just an incompetent boob.
Most people are lazy and selfish. We'll rationalize every mistake we personally make as just mistakes, while other people are just plain wrong.
"The Dark Knight" is not at all a deep film. But it's what passes for depth among too many people who should know better.
