Also, a few additional points I forgot to make:

• Linux isn't Ubuntu
• Linux also isn't Ubuntu
• There are Linux OS' outside of Ubuntu
• Ubuntu does not represent Linux any more than other distributions

You Ubuntu converts are funny, because you bring the worst of the Vim/Emacs world (which is actually mostly a jesting editor war) and turn it serious, bringing a bizarre evangelism to a place where most people don't care one bit. Don't worry, I've been there too, and you'll realize what a jackass you sound like before long. Give Mandriva, OpenSUSE, and PCLinuxOS a try if you think that Ubuntu's somehow special from a usability perspective. I left Fedora out because I think that Yum's frontend is a major shortcoming, making software installation tedious at best.
