Yeah, yeah..."The Constitution isn't a suicide note." Logical error: Assuming the consequent. There is never a time when respect for the rule of law will come to bite you in the ass.

Funny you should mention Lincoln: He tried to suspend habeas corpus and Congress slapped him down. He had to ask them to do it and they did. Even in the middle of a war, they still demanded that the rule of law be maintained. They had the courage to do what our current Congress can't: Stand up for themselves.
