I'm not suggesting the Democrats don't have their own ill-considered government programs. It's just that theirs tend to do a hell of a lot less damage. Throw some pork money at American farms, and at least a huge amount of that money gets recycled through the American economy, and helps to create food, which is something of real value. I don't support farm pork, but the damage it does to our nation is small relative to the damage done by the invasion of Iraq, just to take one example. That could wind up being a four trillion dollar screw up, and a much higher percentage of that money is wasted, rather than simply getting recycled through the economy. I'll take a hundred Kennedy education bills over just one bone-headed Bush war.
