firstly, I think this is mostly a trivial issue. The New Yorker proved it had a pathetic sense of humor and failed miserably at its' attempt to bring the Daily Show to its readers.

Secondly, who is that shortbus that is comparing Wall-E to promoting the concept of obesity=global warming? There is NOTHING in the movie regarding this. Where do people come up with this crap?
