You were not necessarily a poor teacher, but you put yourself in an impossible situation. Don't be so negative about yourself. These are realities of life which college teachers hide from prospective teachers and which you would find out if you actually did your training on the job. More students would run, not just walk away from teaching and many college professors would be out of a job.
