The premise of this argument is built on falty logic. Schools are not businesses and should never be run as such. Students are people and not products. Schools are not farms and students are not cattle or corn to be raised as resourses for the business world. This sort of accountablity is ruining the schools because it is turning teachers into managers and paper pushers and they are spending more times turning out memos and papers and reports and graphs than working with their students. In the old days teachers were accountable to the parents, school board, and the principal. Now they are accountable to math coaches, reading coaches, three or four vice principles, 504 committees, special education commitees, doesn't of their student's therapists, as well as anyone who wants to sue them. This concept of schools being businesses should be thrown out, becauses schools are not businesses. The only concept of business that has any use in the schools that resources should be close to where they are to be used so they can be used more efficiently. Much time is wasted in schools because the principal does not take the time to properly organize and manage the school.
