You don't get it. The average american doesn't follow politics like you or I. They get 5 minutes of political news a day, tops. So, the shortest, "most interesting" bits are what they keep in memory.

You can laugh and call them dumb, naive, ignorant, WHATEVER. But these people VOTE and you either find a way to connect with them or you LOSE.
