Re: Why can't bush beat the terrorists?

Smiley1979:

It's pretty pathetic how bush has failed to catch OBL and can't seem to beat the Taliban, Al Qaeda, or Tasneem. One has to wonder what he's doing wrong. Well, while the complete list of bush fuckups would exceed the space allowed here, I can point to at least one.

There are too many names of innocent people on the terrorist watchlist.

Now of course you're asking, "how does Smiley, even as incredibly intelligent as he is, know there are innocent people on the watchlist?" Simple, and thanks for noticing. That was very nice of you to say.

Because Nelson Mandela isn't a terrorist. Neither is every person named Robert Johnson. Or Evo Morales, president of Bolivia. And while the 9/11 hijackers were, in fact, terrorists, they're dead. But 14 of them are still on the terrorist watchlist. See some more from the useless, borderline comical terrorist watchlist here:

Do these people have any clue what they're doing?

Because he and the Repubs need them.

While we should be mindful that terrorism exists, Bush/Cheney et al, in their "quest" for an '04 re-election and permanent majority, elevated and cultivated "the fear/threat of terrorism" to ridiculous levels.

They've created inefficient bureaucracies (DHS), civil rights violations (holding people in Gitmo for years, and there are some Americans there too), broken the law, occupying Iraq, left Afghanistan basically unattended.

Hemhorraging money.

All in the name of perpetuating fear, and the illusion that they're doing something about it.

You see some fraycon on here still in the mindset of: "They're all gonna kill us!!!" Their emails tell 'em so.

Oh yeah, and while they're at it, there's that little matter of the "oil grab".

Is Iraq "paying for itself" yet?
