I bought it and I'm not asking for a refund. I wish I was invited to the reunion, because I like watching how normal people react to abnormal circumstances.
You naysayers are absolutely absurd. You have no better reason for disbelieving the story than anyone could have for believing it. You just prefer to assume the worst in people. And you mistakenly believe that the skeptical position is automatically the wiser one.
Sure, none of us can say with any certainty whether the story is true or whether Victory1 really is the LW. But if we assume it's all true, we get to have an interesting discussion about what she should do and about what we ourselves might do if placed in her situation. If we assume the story is false, we only get to talk about what a pathetic liar she must be. That can be entertaining if you're an asshole (which I frequently am) but it's just not nearly as interesting to discuss, is it? Lots of people are pathetic liars, but not a lot are switched at birth.
In fact it doesn't really matter whether the story is true or not. If it were shown to be false, I can honestly say I wouldn't give a shit. Not a single shit. There is literally nothing at stake here. But for some reason, you seem to have gotten yourselves heavily emotionally invested in the question.
Then again, if it's fiction, the LW will still have done us a service by giving us something interesting to mull over.
If you can't see that, you're blind. If you think disbelief makes you look smart, you're arrogant. And if you think that your disbelief gives you free license to insult the LW, you're guilty of acting with certainty when certainty is clearly impossible. You are a disgrace to the title "skeptic," and you're being kind of a douchebag to boot.
In short, fuck off.
