Oh, but Daniel did talk about the production end: farmer's markets. If the local organic farms don't like the price that WF/WO offers to pay the for their produce/products, they'll just take their goods to the local farmer's markets where they can set their own price. Or they can see what the increasing number of traditional groceries branching into offering organics will offer them. Grocery chains increasingly are getting into organics and announcing to their shoppers that they buy locally organic produce. The farmers will have to decide the cost/benefit on the more convenient direct sell to WF/WO or traditional local chain or the less convenient, taking their goods to market themselves. The thing about farmer's markets is there are usually plenty of buyers. And if you are already farming organically you're already in touch with buyers whether WF, other groceries, or just local folks. If WF/WO puts the squeeze on the larger agri-business companies getting into the "organic" market, I have no problem with that.
