Kendall & Lithwick can't read.

Or don't want to. True, in his statement of 26 June about the Heller decision, Obama starts out with a clarion call in favor of the right of individuals to bear arms (I was moved) and goes on to hug hunters and sportsmen. However, any member of the vast right-wing conspiracy (like me) easily identifies such sentiments as fluff and notes that Obama says nothing about the right to self-defense with a firearm. Worse, he touts the ability of local communities to make their own gun laws, and erroneously cites Scalia's written opinion in support of this view. Local regulations of guns are the liberals' favorite ploy for eviscerating the 2nd amendment. Nothing like a patchwork of laws to convince law-abiding gun-owners to leave their guns at home or, better still, not buy them. I suggest that our authors here read Obama's statement again. If that doesn't suffice to open their eyes, they should take a remedial English course.
