Lots of times, when someone in their 30's comes out, everyone has figured it out already. Unless they've been living in total denial.

A family friend recently "came out" (he's in his early 60s), and we all scratched our heads, because we thought he already was. It was fairly obvious that he is gay.

Which led me to observe that our true selves are more transparent than we'd like to believe. How often have you met someone who tries so terribly hard to come across as a "stud", yet it's apparently obvious that he is terrified of women? Or someone who is trying to appear affluent, but betrays their real upbringing?
