The empty suit Mr. Obama wears
by Donald Wolberg

Mr. Kaplan seems to go to unusual lengths to inflate Mr. Obama's non-record while attempting to deflate Mr. McCain's extensive record on substantive matters of foreign and military policy. Mr. Obama seems challenged by whether he visited "57 of the 58 state" of our nation, a potential measure of the gentleman's real capacity for history or substantive knowledge beyond a teleprompter screen and perhaps the real reason why he performed so poorly in the primary debates, especially those with Ms Clinton. Mr. McCain's support of the "surge" was certainly a matter of courage and awareness of what needed to be done, while Mr. Obama forever seems befuddled by anything that requires a grasp of why appeasement is bad, talking to loonies really is not wise, and negotiating away freedom is just not smart. Mr. Obama seems not to realize that words matter, and lack of words also matters. Mr. McCain's stron stand against terror has resulted in the almost reality of a real Iraqi government that functions and a desire by Iraq to have us gone. It was strength, not Mr. Obama's run away from challenge that got us to this point. Mr. Kaplan might spend more time examing the empty suit Mr. Obama wears and might be wiser in his assessment of Mr. McCain's devotion to the nation.
