Nobody's Perfect:
I damn hope what you are saying is true. I held on with high hopes for Obama. My fear is, when will the changes in his stances change? I read much speculation about his motives for recent decisions, but these are simply speculations. Character is about consistency and integrity. Believe it or not Chimp Bush said the next President must have strongly held principles. One of the reasons I think the Dems don't stand up to Bush is because they don't possess the same depth of character. True, I don't like Chimp Bush's character, but no one can say he doesn't have strongly held beliefs. In the school yard, it wasn't the strongest who won the fights, it was the won with the strongest conviction. Since the Dems took the House, I hear lots of talk, but no stands, no conviction. I fear Obama showed us the same, this week, which then begs the question, where and when, if ever, will he draw a line and simply lead with his heart and not his sense of politics. To be sure, leading with a sense of politics is one step removed, at best, from the purity of the scenario; it's like acting on the view of a mirrored personality; problem is, that perception is subjective and subject to misperception. We don't need another monkey in the white house - we just don't need it. Yes, perhaps I'm an idealist.
