Re: Like I said...

God has nothing to do with it.

This is not the first long-term relationship I have been in. I got together with a guy shortly after high school, and he was a deadbeat. He could not keep a job for more than two weeks, and would go months without looking for work. I supported his lazy ass for almost five years, before finally deciding to get out.

I dumped him in the nicest way I could. I didn't cheat on him, instead I sat him down, told him I was leaving, paid for the following month's rent, bought him groceries and a carton of smokes, and said I would be back in a couple of days to get my stuff.

During the following week, he did everything in his power to screw me over. He destroyed much of my stuff, sold my computer, and overdrew my bank account (he had my debit card number from previous internet transactions). Supporting him had already trashed my credit, so I have worked hard to get back to where I am now. I lost WAY more than half my shit.

The way I look at it, a few thousand dollars of debt and the loss of all my movies and music and books is a small price to pay for a valuable lesson: be careful in your choice of partners.

At least I didn't get pregnant.
