WALL-E is about consumerism, not obesity. If you’ll notice the planet has been taken over by a corporation. Buy-N-Large’s only mission is to sell sell sell. And they baught baught baught. So much so that the planet became a giant land fill. These people were probably “normal” sized individuals when they went to the Axiom but they once they were there they became giant gelatinous blobs. How would you look if you were at a Sandals resort or on your own island for years??? These people were completely babied. Taken care of in every way right down to walking and dressing themselves. (Their outfits of course were chosen for them) They were stupid because they were being entirely taken care of – by robots no less. Why read when there are robots every where? Why stand when there are hover lounges every where????

Saying that Pixar is trying to make fat people seem inherently stupid is erroneous. The people became fat and stupid at the same time but independently of each other. Meaning that one didn’t cause the other but they happened simultaneously.
